A political and pyschological novel:
LAS JUDERIAS
A Jewish boy ( Karl
ben Abram) , born in Havana , examines the estrangement from her father and why
his mother (Sara ) decided out of Cuba, at a time when the fledgling
Revolution divides the family is just beginning to know . As the boy grow he collects
information material and enriching memories which includes genealogies of their
ancestors, even in that mix with Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Zionist revolutionaries
and mercenaries. In the end, by applying a dosis of understanding and
reconciling moods, this teenage boy looked for his father's presence, but his
effort failed when he discovered him as
a CIA agent
The alienation is
complete because, despite its successful activity as a doctoral researcher and
spy for the U.S., Dr. Abram is cheating, womanizing , and emotionally
unhappy, tortured by guilt and prejudices, which are projected against his wife
and son, his older brother and relatives .
In Lopez Dzur's
novel two visions are contrasted. One is
the Zionist territorialism and its prodominialism supported by the Castro agent
and a second one: Sara's vision which is much more spiritual, balanced by a leftist social conscience. For
reasons beyond their control, she decides to leave Cuba, with his son,
without claiming complicity with counterrevolutionary activities.

SINOPSIS
